The Speakeasy Novato

My Dad came down from Cloverdale on the SMART train and we had lunch at the Board Room restaurant in Ignacio. This was our first time there and we were very impressed. We arrived at 1:45. There were about 5 or 6 patrons at the bar and a table of 3 or 4 in the main dining room. The waitress was covering the bar and the dining room. A very pleasant woman who visited us often. The food was wonderful. My Dad and I split the Caesar salad. I had the fish and chips and my Dad had a club sandwich with fries. We could not have asked for a better lunch. I highly recommend.

Some of my favorite house cocktails around the bay!! as well as a really huge wine selection along with a nice selection of beer. Definitely gives that easy vibe, if you’re looking for a more intimate ambience, this is definitely the place. With astonishing service

This is such a hidden gem. My husband had the filet and he could haveve cut the meat with a fork. Delicious food great service great atmosphere.

My first time in and it was a sweet sweet surprise. I had 2 cocktails and an appetizer. All of it was rad, the bartender knew what she was doing! She knew her clientele and I felt welcomed. I'll definitely be back for more happy hours and dinners and date nights!

We were looking for a happy hour spot in town and found this. Some of our favorite staff previously at other places are here so bonus! Great food and drink specials. The goat cheese was excellent. Seeing Cat and Philippe made our night as they always provide service above and beyond. Our new fav!

Best. Place. Ever!!! Great staff and a great place to get a specialty drink or enjoy some really great food! The owner Munther is maniacally detailed in his approach to the menu, decor and service. You often see his business supporting a lot of local events which I appreciate. Just to be clear, this location has evolved over the years so if you haven't been here in awhile it will look different. It is currently attached to "The Board Room" which is a nice fine dining steakhouse type of place. The ambiance evokes images and feelings of yesteryears icons like Marilyn, Aubrey, etc. The steaks and other selections on the menu are delicious! The service is top notch too! When you enter through the board room you have to walk through a speakeasy style bookcase that is opened for you. The concept is pretty cool. When entering the speakeasy the Decor is equally classy with fine decorating touches and dark lighting. Very on brand for the name. I love coming here and it's a favorite for a lot of locals.

This place seems out of place as it's part of an old strip mall in Novado with a very non descript uninviting front entrance. Once you walk through the doors though, you will be transformed into the old school restaurant and bar. It'll feel like you stepped back in time with Frank Sinatra and the rat pack kind of atmosphere. Food and service was excellent. You can eat their full menu at the bar if you so choose The bar area is fun, draws locals and working people. The main restaurant, the Boardroom, is quiet, warm, with dim lighting and makes for a great date night or couple's night out. Don't be fooled by the less than inviting appearance from the front and the fact that it's a part of a strip mall. Great place!

We never miss going to Speakeasy at least once a week. The food is always good and the atmosphere is fun. The reason we keep going is because Jessica behind the bar is the real draw for us. She is a very special talent with her mixologist background, always making something we can’t resist. And she is a wonderful and caring person. If you haven’t been there you are missing a wonderful experience.
